lgbt“Social justice” seems to be a theme that’s all too relevant in the 21st century. Everyone left, right and center is getting outraged when a YouTuber says a bad word, or some random guy gropes a statue, or a comedian makes a joke that can be even remotely interpreted as sexist, racist or homophobic. It honestly feels like you can’t log into Twitter these days without SOMETHING being offensive! Hell, just a few months ago people were offended by the fact that Super Mario, of all characters, can have an outfit with a sombrero in his newest game! It’s crazy! And there’s two things that we couldn’t help but notice over this whole trend: One, the demographic that was almost exclusively targeted by the people the Internet commonly refers to as SJWs (social justice warriors) are straight, white folks; And two, the attackers are also overwhelmingly straight, white folks being offended on behalf of others.

Honestly, we – the LGBT folk – aren’t comfortable with that. We have our own voice, our own reasons and our own opinions, and we don’t like it when straight or cis folk speak for us gay and trans folk. We want our own opinions to matter in the questions that directly involve us, and we want our voices to be heard! That’s why we, four men and women who belong straight (no pun intended) in the LGBT community, decided to create this blog and share our own minds, with our own words. You can read more about us in the About page, but what we’ll do is explicitly conceal who the writer of each article is. Because it doesn’t matter if the author is male, female, cis or trans. Everything we publish speaks for all of us, and while we can’t claim that it speaks for the entire LGBT community, at the very least it represents a small portion of it. We hope you’ll find your stay worthwhile!
