About Us

While there are other people we are working with to build and manage our blog, the core of Frontiers consists of four different writers that construct its articles and opinion pieces. Some have chosen to remain anonymous, since they’re still in the closet and prefer not to be outed as trans, gay or both, to avoid the risk of losing their job or being alienated from their family. As a courtesy to them, every single one of us is going to remain anonymous, and some of us have elected to use a pseudonym. Please respect our privacy, and judge us for the people we are and the content we write rather than by our true identities.

Wade R.

– The man who started the current incarnation of Frontiers, and the closest we’ve got to the “man in charge”. Very gay and very proud of it, Wade is among the few members of the LGBT community that have never had a problem accepting themselves – he was a boy who liked other boys, and there was nothing ever anything wrong with that. Realizing that not every gay person had the support and care that he got from his friends and family, Wade started an LGBTQ+ support group in his city, for those who had nowhere else where they could be themselves.

Amanda S.

– Amy’s hobbies include videogames, anime and correcting people who are wrong on Reddit. She’s got a loud mouth, a sharp mind and a shield forged of stubbornness and hardened with patience. Of course, her demeanor is understandable – she grew up in a rather conservative household, where she needed to defend her sexual identity under constant threats of being kicked out and forced to live on the streets. Amanda’s doing great now, living with a loving girlfriend and working a job she adores right here in Frontier!

Kasia M.

– If Frontier had a mascot, it would likely have to be Kasia! Small, adorable, full of energy and usually nesting in someone’s hair as they work, she’s the life and soul of the team and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Don’t let her bubbly demeanor throw you off, though – this little mascot has claws longer than even Amanda’s, and she won’t hesitate to gut you should you wrong her in some way. Most of the time, however, she’s more than content munching on enough sweets to send a normal person into a coma and nuzzling up against her co-workers while they type. Go back to work, Kasia, I know you’re reading this!

Michael J.

– Michael may be Frontier’s newest recruit, but so far, he seems to be showing the most amount of potential! Proud owner of an English major and having studied writing (both creative and argumentative) in college, there’s no one better suited to outline their opinions in a text-based medium. While relatively new in the LGBT community (you can blame years of denial and self-discovery for that), Mike, much like anyone who identifies with it, quickly found a place within it, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
